Kannawidan Ylocos Festival: Pride of Ilocos Sur
Ilocos Sur is celebrating a festival called "Kannawidan Ylocos Festival" that highlights the Ilocano culture and traditions. This is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the second week of February.
On the opening of the festival there is usually a mass held at St. Paul Cathedral and followed by a procession of Saints. The mass is the way of Ilocanos as a thanks giving to God for the blessings. After the mass there is also a colorful fireworks display.
The festival is full of activities that people will surely enjoy. Almost all of the activities is held at Tamag Grounds, where the One Town One Product is also presented. There are also street dancings that is also the awaited of this event, that showcases the traditional dances with different styles. Filipino artists are also invited to perform at nights celebrate with the Ilocanos.
